Introduction
Welcome to Sum 61, the card game where you use cards as arithmetic operations to try and get your pile to 61 before anyone else does, all while sabotaging other players in the process!
1. How To Win
The first player that gets their pile to 61 is the winner.
2. Setup
Each player is dealt 3 cards to their hand and a starting card to their pile. The player with the lowest value goes first. All special cards and cards greater than 10 count as 10 for the starting value.
3. Gameplay
At the start of your turn draw a card. Pass or play on any pile. Your turn ends once you play a card unless it is a play-again card. Play proceeds clockwise.
4. Cards
The deck consists of:
- 11 Addition cards
- 11 Subtraction cards
- 9 Multiplication cards
- 9 Division cards
- 4 of each play again card
- 2 swap cards
for a total of 54 cards.
5. Empty Draw pile
If the draw pile is empty, the game will end when all players pass in a row. The player closest to 61 wins. If more than one player is closest to 61, those players will draw.
6. Additional Rules
Going below 1 and fractions are not allowed. Have fun!
